A Photo a Day - Day 17

Note: I've received a few emails from you all about the inability to leave a comment on these posts. Just wanted to make you aware, I'm working on that and as soon as I have more info I'll be sure to pass it along. And thank you for reading and desiring to leave a comment!

My wife and I have been working from home since the start of the pandemic back in March and will be doing so for the foreseeable future. My choice of "home office"?

Our bed.

How do you do that? you ask.

It's wickedly comfortable, I say.

It beats sitting on a hard chair and leaning awkwardly over a desk. I've got plenty of pillows for back support and make it a point to get up and walk around periodically.

I have a killer view out the front of our home and get to watch all the vehicles that come and go throughout the day. I've kept tabs on the Fed-Ex drivers whose delivery skills have been horrendous at best. I even helped a neighbor corral their dog who had escaped.

But most importantly, I get to enjoy this view a good part of every day.

I love watching her ears subtly move with every gust of wind or car that enters the street.

I enjoy the fact that she has no reaction to deer in the front yard but can spot a rabbit from miles away and absolutely loses her shit.

I love that she maneuvers herself just right so I can rub her belly with my foot while I'm on a conference call.

Mia has enjoyed this pandemic more than anyone. We're all around 24/7 and like Goldilocks, she gets to sample multiple beds, couches and blankets until she finds her perfect resting space.

I'm in no rush to get back into the office.

We were told about folk wisdom saying that black and tan dogs have four eyes, counting the two spots over their real eyes and this quality gives them ESP. We thought it was really probably true about our Lacey who was in our lives until she was 13 1/2. She certainly had all sorts of survival skills she was ready to fall back upon, though we were reliable.
